If you are a non-Chinese citizen, you need to apply for a visitor's visa at your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate. Two types of visas are available, i.e. Tourist (L) Visa and Business Visit (F) Visa. Tourist Visa is your first choice, because its application process is simple and fast.
However some Consulates may suggest you to apply for the Business Visit Visa, which requires an invitation letter from an organization in China.
For ASWC 2009, the host organization in China is Fudan University.
Requirements for Tourist (L) Visa
1. Your valid & actual passport which must have at least six (6) months of remaining validity with at least one blank visa page in it.
2. One completed Visa Application Form with one passport photo (black & white or color is acceptable).
Requirements for Business Visit (F) Visa
1. Your valid & actual passport which must have at least six (6) months of remaining validity with at least one blank visa page in it.
2. One completed Visa Application Form with one passport photo (black & white or color is acceptable).
3. An invitation letter from the host organization in China, i.e. Fudan University
